Interesting things...

I think that it is interesting to learn about Web 1.0 and 2.0. I had heard the terms used in passing before, and just took them for granted. I am looking forward to learning more about Web 2.0.

I already use several different communication applications to stay in touch with organizations and people. I cannot wait to see how I may add it into my student's curriculum, making it developmentally appropriate!

I would also like to learn more about creating my OWN communication for my family and friends.

  1. A blog could be useful for a family. You can allow multiple people to add posts to the same blog. I wouldn't even have considered such a scheme until I started using Blogger. It's pretty powerful yet fairly easy to use.

  2. Hello Ringler! This is try #2 to comment on your blog. The first time, I forgot to confirm and type in those letters again and accidentally closed the browser! ACK! Anyway, I am interested to see how you would use these tools for your age group. At all ages, there is such a value to the face to face time and with these kids being so plugged in, I wonder if we'll start to notice a difference because of it.

Too mnay things: web site, wiki, Moodle and blog! WOW! I am kind of lost! It feels like I put myself in an ADHD situation!

  5. I have a blog intended just for my family and a few close friends from college. It's where I post updates (when I remember to!) of what's happening in my life. Blogger makes inserting pictures pretty easy, which adds a nice touch to the text.

The drawback is that my family rarely posts comments, so I'm not always sure they're still reading!

  7. You will enjoy reading some of the sample blogs in Thing 3; there are some blogs posted by younger students.
